On September 20, 2023, ACQAHE representatives attended a regular online bi-monthly meeting in the organisation of Central and Eastern European Network of Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (CEENQA). The meeting was an opportunity to present the future activities of this Association, as well as to discuss current trends in the field of quality assurance.
On that occasion, CEENQA members got acquainted with the activities of a similar Association – the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE), as well as with the planned research which this Association intends to conduct in the coming months using the channels of the CEENQA network. Bearing in mind that ACQAHE is considering the possibility of membership in INQAAHE and the expansion of international cooperation, it was an ideal opportunity to get acquainted with this Association.
The second part of the agenda was devoted to the presentation of the activities of the Education Reform Initiative in Southeast Europe (ERI SEE), which gathers together countries – signatories of the Memorandum of Understanding, namely the following 7 countries: Montenegro, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Albania and Moldova. The aforementioned Initiative aims to provide support in the implementation of reforms in this region, taking into account the specific needs and conditions in each member state, as well as the wider European context and trends. Currently, within the organization of ERI SEE, decision-makers in the field of quality assurance in the Western Balkans will gather together in Skopje, at the end of September, in order to identify the level of implemented reforms and at the same time to provide recommendations which will represent inputs for the preparation of the Ministerial Conference among EHEA member countries, to be held in 2024 in Tirana.
