Ana Rutović, Senior Advisor for accreditation and reaccreditation, participated in the panel discussion of the seminar titled “Flexibilization of Learning and Micro-Credentials in Higher Education – The Role of Universities, Policy Makers, and the Business Sector,” organized by the National Erasmus+ Office in Montenegro at the initiative of the Montenegrin Higher Education Reform Experts (HERE) team, held at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Montenegro.
The seminar was organized with the aim of enhancing the understanding of micro-credentials in higher education, emphasizing their importance for lifelong learning, the recognition of non-formal education, as well as the regulation of their evaluation and quality within the academic context. An additional goal was to strengthen cooperation between universities, policy makers, and the business sector, in order to promote micro-credentials as a valid and high-quality form of education and skills development.
The representative of the Agency, Ana Rutović, presented the current legislative framework regulating the field of micro-credentials, the existing practice regarding the accreditation of lifelong learning programs, as well as the challenges of recognizing micro-credentials at the national level. She also outlined the upcoming amendments to the new Law on Higher Education, specifically related to the implementation of micro-credentials within higher education.
The seminar was supported by the SPHERE team, composed of OBREAL Global (coordinator) and the European University Association (EUA). The guest lecturer at the seminar was Professor Bernold Hasenknopf from Sorbonne University.
