Adviser for international cooperation, Dunja Bulajić, participated in a meeting with the Quality Assurance Agency of the Republic of Albania (ASCAL) on June 11, 2024 in Tirana.
On that occasion, experiences were exchanged about evaluation procedures in these two countries and the current legislative framework for quality assurance in higher education was presented. The Internal Analysis of ACQAHE compliance with European Standards and Guidelines (ESG) from May 2024 was presented as well. The challenges that ACQAHE and ASCAL are currently facing were discussed, especially regarding compliance with the ESG 3.3 standard which defines the conditions of independence in the work of QA agencies. The meeting was an opportunity to discuss plans regarding changes in the legislative framework necessary to enable agencies to fulfill ESG and gain the possibility to become full members of European associations for quality assurance. It was also agreed to improve international cooperation through the joint preparation of project proposals for Interreg and Erasmus+ calls.
