Accredited special program in higher education “Sustainable development of the yachting and cruising industry”

On May 8, 2026, the Agency for Quality Assurance of Higher Education approved the issuance of a certificate of accreditation of a special program in higher education entitled “Sustainable development of the yachting and cruising industry” within the Maritime Faculty of Kotor at the University of Montenegro.

The program was evaluated by an independent expert Commission, whose composition consisted of prof. dr Goran Vukelić, from the Maritime Faculty, University of Rijeka, in the capacity of President of the Commission, prof. dr Žarko Koboević from the Maritime Faculty, University of Dubrovnik and prof. Dr. Luka Vukić from the Maritime Faculty, University of Split, who were members of the Commission.

A special program in higher education “Sustainable development of the yachting and cruising industry” aims to enable additional education of future (students) and current (professionals employed in companies) experts in the field of the blue economy by strengthening the individual competence of the individual, and creating a management structure that will better meet the challenges of future development in this sector. The program includes the wider field of seafaring, yachting and cruising operations and their management, nautical and cruising tourism, their impact on the environment, as well as management of marine environment protection. The planned duration of the program is a total of 90 hours, while the program carries 3 ECTS.
