Representatives of the Agency at the National Bologna Event

Organized by the National Erasmus+ Office of Montenegro, the National Bologna Event titled “What do we mean when we talk about recognition in higher education?” was held on October 23, 2025, in the ceremonial hall of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Montenegro.

The event brought together representatives of Montenegrin universities, the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, as well as the Agency for Control and Quality Assurance of Higher Education, represented by Senior Advisors in the Quality Control Sector, Ms. Aldina Purišić and Ms. Dajana Pavićević.

A special professional dimension was added to the event by Prof. Raimonda Markevičiene, Bologna expert and Head of the Office for International Relations at Vilnius University. In her presentation, she shared with participants relevant experiences and recommendations from European practice in the field of qualification recognition and quality enhancement in higher education.

During the three thematic sessions, discussions focused on the recognition of study periods, diplomas, and joint study programs. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of the new Law on Higher Education, European Standards and Guidelines (ESG), as well as on future directions for the development of joint studies and micro-qualifications.

Participants highlighted that quality and transparent recognition procedures are essential for improving the mobility of students and academic staff, as well as for strengthening the international visibility of Montenegrin higher education institutions. Additionally, discussions addressed the need for continuous cooperation between universities, state institutions, and the Agency, in order to ensure the consistent application of European standards and to foster further development of the higher education system in Montenegro.
