Representatives of the Agency for Control and Quality Assurance of Higher Education visited the Slovenian Quality Assurance Agency for higher education in Ljubljana

Delegation of the Agency for Control and Quality Assurance of Higher Education lead by the Director Prof Srđa Popović PhD implemented a study visit to the Slovenian Quality Assurance Agency for higher education in Ljubljana (NAKVIS).

The study visit was focused on the stages and processes in the development of the Slovenian Quality Assurance Agency for higher education. Representatives of the Slovenian Agency emphasized how important it was that the agencies that were to ensure quality of higher education were independent in terms of organization and decision-making. This is the basis for meeting the requirements for membership in the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education, which would mean that Montenegrin diplomas could be recognized in the European Higher Education Area. They emphasized that this was a long process that assumed evaluation of all the participants in the higher education system in line with European standards and guidelines. Experience of other agencies in the region is precious for Montenegrin Agency that has just started operating and that aims at creating the basis for the system in such a way that it can meet European requirements and improve the quality of the Montenegrin higher education system.

Meeting with the Slovenian colleagues aimed at exchanging experience and obtaining advice, will be an important guideline for Montenegrin Agency, particularly given the fact that Slovenian higher education institutions are very well ranked in the global rating lists. Representatives of the two agencies agreed to establish cooperation and work together on the strengthening of the capacities in the field of higher education.
