Round table “Academic integrity – conditio sine qua non”

The Agency for Control and Quality Assurance of Higher Education, the Ethics Committee and the office of the Council of Europe are organizing a round table on the topic “Academic integrity – conditio sine qua non”.

The round table will be held on Monday, 20 th February, 2023, starting at 10 a.m. at Hotel Cue in Podgorica.

The first part of the round table will be dedicated to presenting the achieved results on strengthening academic integrity, announcing new initiatives, as well as promoting the values of academic integrity. In the second part, through a discussion, the participants of the round table will have the opportunity to exchange opinions and views regarding the challenges they face in the process of applying the principles of academic integrity.

Introductory presentations at the round table will have the acting director of the Agency for Control and Quality Assurance of Higher Education, Mr. Goran Danilović, the president of the Ethics Committee, prof. dr. Mara Šćepanović and Mr. Miloš Bošković, representative of the Council of Europe office in Podgorica. Mr. Klemen Šubic, from the National Agency for Quality in Higher Education of the Republic of Slovenia, who worked on the development of the supplementary standard on academic integrity, and whose application will begin at the second cycle of institutional evaluations (reaccreditation) of the higher education institutions will have a video presentation.

Since tihs is a very important topic for the academic community, not only in Montenegro but also beyond, we want, through the exchange of opinions and discussion, together with the partners in this process, to consider the current issues and challenges that higher education institutions face when it is about the application of the Law on Academic Integrity and the application of the principles of academic integrity, which represent the basis and condition without which we cannot even talk about the quality of higher education.

The round table on the subject of academic integrity is the first in a series of activities defined by the Cooperation Agreement signed by the Agency for Control and Quality Assurance of Higher Education and the Ethics Committee.
