The Acting Director of the Agency for Control and Quality Assurance of Higher Education, Mr. Goran Danilović and the President of the Ethics Committee, prof. Dr. Mara Šćepanović, signed the Cooperation Agreement on Friday, February 10, 2023.
The purpose of concluding the Agreement is to establish cooperation in areas of mutual interest, especially in the area of promoting and strengthening the application of the principle of academic integrity. The agreement also defines several joint activities that will be implemented and concern the implementation of the pilot evaluation of the supplementary standard on academic integrity, the development of recommendations and the improvement of the supplementary standard, education and promotion of academic integrity through the organization of workshops, strengthening cooperation relying on the exchange of best experiences, etc.
The signing of the Cooperation Agreement is one of the first initiatives that will be implemented in order to promote and strengthen academic integrity. Already on February 20, 2023, the Agency for Quality Control of Higher Education and the Ethics Committee, with the support of the Council of Europe office, are organizing a round table on the topic “Academic integrity – conditio sine qua non” that will bring together representatives of the Ministry of Education, rectors, deans and representatives ethics committees of institutions of higher education, representatives of the parent assembly committee, as well as other partners in the field of quality assurance of higher education.
As a reminder, the Agency for Control and Quality Assurance of Higher Education, with the support of the Council of Europe office through the “Quality Education for All” project, developed a supplemental standard on academic integrity that will be a mandatory standard in institutional evaluation procedures (reaccreditation of higher education institutions). The application of this standard will begin in the second cycle of institutional evaluations, which will begin in 2024.
