On Tuesday, October 17, 2023, representatives of the Agency for Control and Quality Assurance of Higher Education held a meeting with representatives of the University of Montenegro and representatives of the Management Center in Innsbruck regarding the accreditation procedure of the joint master’s program that these institutions, together with partners from Finland, are planning to implement.
At the meeting, the national regulation that is applied in the accreditation procedures of this type of program was presented, the minimum requirements that need to be met, which are defined by the Law on Higher Education, as well as the dynamics of the accreditation procedure from the moment of submitting the application to the Agency.
During the meeting, representatives of higher education institutions presented the dynamics and agreed on further steps in the process of preparing the joint application, with a special reference to the part of the application that will be submitted by the University of Montenegro. One of the topics was also the application of the European framework for accreditation of joint programs. The participants were informed that the Agency still does not apply the mentioned European framework, but it was pointed out that the standards and guidelines in force are harmonized with the European Standards and Guidelines (ESG).
It was concluded that the preparation of a joint agreement, as defined by the Standards and guidelines for the accreditation of study programs, is the first step in the preparation of a joint application, which will first of all define all the obligations of the institutions involved.
