Representatives of the Agency attended the first meeting of the Working Group for Quality Assurance in Higher Education that took place in Tbilisi in Georgia in the period 3 – 4 December 2018

The Bologna Follow-up Group Secretariat (BFUG) established a set of Working Groups in the member states of the European Higher Education Area and signatories to the Bologna Declaration with a view to identifying the level of quality of the implementation of the Bologna process.

Representatives of the Agency attended the first meeting of the Working Group for Quality in Higher Education that took place in Tbilisi, Georgia in the period 3 – 4 December 2018.

Key topics discussed in the meeting included legal framework, implementation of the European Standard and Guidelines (ESG), internal and external quality assurance and participation of stakeholders in the process of quality assurance.

The meeting was also used as an opportunity for all the members of the Working Group to file the application for the KA3 Erasmus+ project funded by the European Union. The beginning of the implementation of this project is expected in spring 2019.

In addition to the above, the participants started developing a Common Action Plan of all signatories to the Bologna Declaration. This Plan will be the basis for development of policies and guidelines in higher education in the next Ministerial Conference that will take place in Italy in 2020.
