Meeting with the representatives of the University Mediterranean

Meeting with the representatives of the University Mediterranean took place in the premises of the Agency for Control and Quality Assurance of Higher Education.

Topics of the meeting included the Law on Higher Education and its implementation, introduction of the new model of studies, processes of accreditation of study programmes and re-accreditation of higher education establishments, as well as the process of development of qualifications in the Montenegrin qualification framework.

Rector of the University Mediterranean, Prof Radislav Jovović PhD said he was very happy that the Agency for Control and Quality Assurance of Higher Education was established. He emphasized the importance of the existence of such an institution in the higher education field. In the meeting he presented the activities and intentions of the University of Mediterranean in the process of harmonization of the model of studies with the new Law on Higher Education. He also underlined the challenges that the institutions were facing in their efforts to go through this process.

Director of the Agency, Prof Srđa Popović PhD stated that the Agency and higher education institutions should work together on the efforts to raise the quality of higher education in Montenegro. He presented the activities of the Agency related to proposing and adopting new rules for accreditation of study programmes, instructions for re-accreditation of institutions and other procedures in the quality assurance process.

The participants agreed on the future modes of cooperation between the two institutions with a particular focus on the joint implementation of the activities in the field of higher education.

The meeting was attended by the rector Prof Radislav Jovović PhD, prorector for international cooperation Assistant Lecturer Anđela Jakšić Stojanović, PhD; and secretaries Vesna Mijatović and Melida Suljević.
